Mud point -(Unit 11: The amazing human body)-

Hi! It's Eunice C!!^^ My mud points for this unit is the circulatory and nervous systems. (I have 2 questions...)
So for circulatory system, what exactly is systolic and diastolic pressure?? Also for nervous system, what is the difference between resting potential and action potential? What happens?
THANKS.

  1. systolic and diastolic are two types of blood pressure- systolic acts when ventricles contract, and diastolic acts when ventricles relax. The difference between action potential and resting potential is that action potential is the depolarization and repolarization of membrane, meaning a neuron is sending information. Resting potential is the polarized state, where there is a negative charge inside the membrane, basically meaning a neuron is not sending a signal, it is 'at rest'.
