muddiest point

My muddiest point is how the reflex arc works

  1. A reflex arc is basically a physical reaction to something. For example, if you accidentally place your hand on a hot surface, your immediate reaction is to pull your hand away. The endings of the sensory nerves in your skin sense the heat and send an impulse through the axon of a sensory neuron to the nerve cell body of the sensory neuron. The impulse goes through sensory neurons until it reaches an interneuron in the spinal cord. The interneuron determines the appropriate response (which is pulling your hand away). The muscle responds by contracting to pull your hand away from the hot surface.
