Hi everyone! It's Tessa N here. I'm confused on what the reflex arc is... can anyone explain it?

  1. A reflex arc is basically an automatic reaction to something that harms your body. altough instead of the hurtful sensation being sent to the brain and wasting time being analyzed, the sensation can trigger the protective repsonse in the spinal cord.

  2. the reaction travels like this: it starts with the sensory neuron (like touching something hot), then goes to an interneuron (message gets sent on), then goes through to the motor neuron (moves your hand away)
