its eleni again sorry! one more thing i almost forgot! i know ive asked this question multiple times in class but could someone please explain it just one last time...? what is autosomal dominance and whats autosomal recessive?? ok sorry and thanks thats it :)

  1. Autosomal is basically the opposite of sex-linked, so you don't use the X's or Y's. A dominant trait means that you need only one allele to inherit a disease. Recessive means you need 2 alleles to inherit a disease.

    Ex.) Huntington's disease is an autosomal dominant disease. So if a mom had the disease and the dad didn't, mom's genotype will be: HH or Hh, and dad: hh.
