Muddiest Point

Ok, I understand most of the things from this chapter, except for the stuff about ATP and ADP... I don't know what the difference is!

I know that they are sourced of Energy, but that's it! So can someone please tell me what they do?

  1. ATP has an added phosphate that is added when it goes through the mitochondria as ADP
ATP is the energy that is used in all cell functions while ADP is not used by the cell other than when making ATP.
    hope this helps

  2. ATP is the chemical that cells want to use for energy by cells.

ADP is a lower energy molecule that is found in cells. During CELLULAR RESPIRATION, mitochondria take ADP, energy (from glucose) and a phosphate group and FORM ATP.

ATP can then be used by the cell to "power" all sorts of cellular processes.
