The phases of the cell, say what?!

Why hello there, Anka here! My muddiest point is the difference between each CELL PHASE. What is one characteristic of each phase that distinguishes them from the others? Thanks a lot guys! (:

    -G1 Phase, cell grows normal functions of life.

    -S Phase, DNA replicates.

    -G2 Phase, cell grows and prepares for mitosis.

    Mitosis:

    -Prophase, chromatin condenses into a structure known as chromosome.

    -Metaphase, chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell.

    -Anaphase, chromosomes move to opposite poles of the cell.

    -Telophase, two daughter nuclei form in cell.
