My Dirty Point Of Muddiness.

My muddiest point is about enzymes. Like I know that they are catalysts with protein that speed up chemical reactions but can someone further explain this or like exactly what catalysts are?

  1. Enzymes are very specific, they work kinda like a "lock and key." They are affected by the changes of pH, temperature and substrate concentration. And a catalyst is a substance that initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction without itself being affected. HOPE this helps!!

  2. A CATALYST is a substance that speeds up a chemical reaction. It does so by LOWER the amount of energy needed to start the reaction.

An enzymes is a catalyst that works in a cell. Enzymes are made of protein.
