Brudny Punkt

Hey Guys I'm kinda confused on the exact meaning of a Half-Life.

  1. hey so the exact meaning of half-life is the time it takes for half of the radioactive atoms to decay. An example 100 grams of radioactive atoms and 1 half life is 5,770. So 2nd half life would be 11,540 years and 50 grams of atoms.

  2. to add on to what allie said, when you're trying to figure out the half life make a chart, it really helps a lot. make three columns, the number of half lives, the total time, and the grams, and by doing this you will be able to see how to solve the half life step by step. you will notice that with each half life, the time increases by adding on the original time, and the grams divide by two each life.
