Muddiest point YO

Hey guys! Ok my muddiest point is understanding what the egg does in the menstrual cycle. Or well actually the whole menstrual cycle... I understand that it uses feedback mechanisms and what glands make which hormone and stuff...but im kinda confused about the details of the menstrual cycle.

  1. ok so basically every month the ovaries release an egg (ovulate) whether its fertalized or not. and it will go through the fallopian tubes tot he uterus. the uterus will fill with blood incase the egg is fertalized so that it can support the baby. the hormones help thicken the lining and it holds all the nutrients and such to be able to support the fetus/baby/embreyo. if the egg is not fertalized, then there is no need for the egg or the blood so getting your period is your bodys way of getting rid of everything. its kind of like the garbage haha and the lining sheds. thats just a sum up of the cycle...does that help??
