MUDDIEST POINT

Hey guys, I know we have been through alot last week and this week. We have watched alot of very GRAPHIC videos, but it's all good, it's nature... i think. Anyhow, what i still have trouble is understanding the menstrual cycle. Also, I'm not sure how estrogen and progesterone play a part in the menstrual cycle?
If anyone can help explain more clearly, that would be great!
Thanks!

  1. Estrogen thickens the lining of the uterus so that it can receive the egg. Progesterone thickens the lining too but maintains it as well.

  2. every month, you get your period cuz you release an unfertilized egg...estrogen and progesterone are hormones that develope the reproductive systema and are release by the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. so basically if theres too much or too litlle of one or the other it can then signal the brain to rlease more or less of the hormone. thats where negative and positive feedback come in. if it needs more of a hormone its positive feedback and if theres too much then theres negative feedback saying to shut down...
