hay guys it's TessaN. does anyone have a good way to remember the vascular bundles of monocots and dicots? Which one is spread out and which one has the bundles in a circle?
Monocot stem looks like spread out sesame seeds in a circle! Think of the sesame seeds as vascular bundles. Dicot Stem looks almost like a flower. the "petal-like" structures are the vascular bundles. Monocot root is a little bit hard to explain...It has an inner circle with dots inside. Those dots are xylem and phloem. Dicot root has a smallish circle in the middle with a "cross" inside. The "cross" is the xylem and rest of the dots in the circle is phloem.
